Eugene Gladstone O'Neill is the playwright of Anna Christie that made its Broadway debut at the Vanderbilt Theatre on November 2, 1921.
O'Neill received the Pulitzer Prize for this work in 1922. He has also won a Nobel Prize for Literature and is considered to be the first to introduce the techniques of realism into American drama.
Anna Christie is the story of a former prostitute who falls in love and the difficulties she faces thereafter.
