Emma is a romantic fiction by the English novelist Jane Austen. The main protagonist of the story is a beautiful, high-spirited, intelligent, and 'slightly' spoiled young woman - Emma Woodhouse - who vows to never marry until her jealousy makes her realize that she actually is in love.
The novel was first published in 1815. Prince Regent was known to be a great admirer of Jane Austen's works and his librarian had asked Jane to dedicate this book to the Prince.
Good romantic novel which tells us that love can happen to anyone, even to those who believe that they will never fall in love.
